The ghost within you is a metaphor for the person that you thought you were. The person that you thought you were is what you aspired to become as a child. It was your dream and it was what you wanted to be when you grew up. However, this dream has been snuffed out and now there is someone else inside of your body.

Now, this new person who is inside of your body is not the person that you once knew and loved. Your "ghost" is incapable of doing the things that you used to do and enjoys the things that you used to enjoy. This person lacks many of your old passions and hobbies and is uninterested in carrying on with them.
